According to her website, Miss Tina is twenty-three years old and lives in Austin, where she works as a cocktail server at a club. She also sells her panties in her spare time. We spoke to Tina about the ins and outs of the online panty-vending business.
How long have you been doing this?
I’ve been selling my used panties for about two years now. I have probably sold close to 500 pairs of panties, pantyhose, socks, and lingerie in that time.
What gave you the idea?
A friend mentioned it as a joke a long time ago and I never forgot about it. The more I thought about it, the more excited I got about the idea, until one day I decided to make it happen. I took some self-shots and some pics of my panties and threw up a Craigslist ad. I got plenty of hits and my business has been growing from there.
Do customers ever request more from you than what you offer?
Sure. I get tons of requests, which I encourage. Plenty of what I sell started as suggestions. I started with panties, then added pantyhose, socks, shoes, lingerie, pic sets and videos, and some weirder fetish stuff. My policy is very simple: if it makes me feel awesome and sexy, then I'm happy to do it, and if not, then best wishes finding a different girl.
What's the weirdest request you've ever gotten from someone?
Where to begin? I would never say requests are "weird" really, just something I'm not turned-on doing. Playing with candy and vegetables seems strange to me, but I get requests for "pussy-pops" often, and one for a zucchini and wooden spoon once. We all have have our no-no's. I don't do — how do I put this — fecal or humiliation stuff, but I have sold my bathroom trash.
Tell me about the first time you ever did this.
I took a couple pictures of myself in panties and picked out some old panties I was ready to throw away. I made an e-mail account and a Paypal account and threw an ad up on Craigslist. I had lots of responses so I just started e-mailing people and worked out the details as I went. I remember my very first sale was to a guy stationed at a nearby military base. The idea of him in his quarters, surrounded by guys and missing the smell of a woman, turned me on so much.
What do you think people are looking for when they buy this stuff? Are they after arousal, or a more personal connection?
The personal connection is huge. I think my customers yearn to be close to a beautiful woman; to the point where they’re essentially kissing the "ground" she "walked" on. The most successful girls doing this are not the ones who are doing it for the money alone; experienced buyers will screen them right away.
Do you have many return customers, and do you know any of them in a more friendly way?
Return customers are what makes any business thrive. I get off on pleasing my customers, so I try to learn exactly what they like in their order. I don't often get to know them personally, but I know what they're looking for.
Do you do anything to personalize the things you sell?
Of course! Every item I sell comes with custom pics and a handwritten thank-you note. I also make custom videos and pic-sets in your item just the way you like it. I'll even write his name on my ass if he wants, anything to make the experience special.
Do you have a boyfriend? How does he feel about this?
I’m in a long-term, committed relationship. We don't keep secrets — he knows about my panty biz, but he doesn't chose to participate. I do what I want with my panties and my free time; anyway, he gets the main course. There have been awkward moments when we’re getting romantic and I'm wearing some big granny panties, or pantyhose sans panties under my jeans, but I've never heard a complaint.
Do you get anything out of the deal, aside from the money?
Absolutely! I love panties. I love wearing a new pair every day. The boost of self-confidence I feel in my day-to-day life, having this naughty little secret under my clothes, is amazing. I'm a total people-pleaser and I love to be worshipped and spoiled like a princess — what girl doesn't? I still get butterflies when someone tells me they enjoy something they’ve bought from me.
Do you think it takes a certain type of person to be good at this? What sort of qualities would you say you possess that makes you successful at this?
It takes more than a camera and a hot bod to run a successful panty business. You have to be organized, dedicated, and have an eye for detail, to begin with. Trust and privacy are huge, so a sense of respect and and an open mind are both necessary. But most of all, it doesn't matter what your size or shape is, or what your limits are, you just have to feel sexy and love yourself.
