I think it's the fact that we have an extra sense of confidence. We exude more energy. We come across as more headstrong and put-together.

I'm an eye guy. They're the window to the soul, and for me, glasses obscure my...soul gazing. It's like I can't get a real feel for someone's attractiveness, or maybe their real essence, until they take the glasses off. The thick, dark rims that have made such a comeback tend to enhance this problem for me. They seem to make a person harder, a bit more severe. When the glasses come off, it softens the face and makes a person more accessible to me.

I think it's fantastic that wearing glasses is hip now...it's certainly easier to find more modern frames these days, as opposed to a decade ago, when I could only find glasses appropriate for someone twice my age. Yes, some silly kids are wearing them without merit, but for those of us who NEED glasses (not everyone can comfortably wear contacts), this trend is quite convenient!
Agreed. The variety of flattering glasses out now is outstanding. Although I will say it's obnoxious that apparently people are willing to assume that people are just wearing glasses to be stylish.
Also agreed! I've had bad eyesight since 3rd grade and recently I've noticed the frames are improving a lot. I can now look hip...and see!

hahaha agreed. my vision is so bad, the thickness of the lenses pretty much pop out of the frames.
But, I think having thick lenses is sexy! Totally nerdy and uncool back in the 80's, but thick lenses are so in right now.
My man uses reading glasses and sometimes when I have a hard time reading something and am at his place I will use his to see better, I wear contacts and when he saw me for the first time in his glasses he said I was soooooooo sexy..... WOW
When you think about it from an evolutionary standpoint, glasses shouldn't be sexy. It's a clear signal that the person has inferior genes and I need them so I'm not bashing, merely pointing out an obvious point here, but one no one seems to mention...hmmm, maybe we're (hipsters aside) developing an attraction since so many people need them?
If that were true, I could understand your point. Staring at a computer screen for 8 hours a day can be like holding a weight at a fixed position for the same time. Regardless of age or genetics, your muscles/tendons shorten. A more obvious example would be women who wear high heels a lot and rip their Achilles tendon when walking in flats. My point is, you can be born with sight defects or you could acquire them over time from doing things our eye were never evolved to do.
Sexy or not, I prefer contacts. Bicycling is the main form of transport in the city I live in right now, and for me it is simply less hazardous to wear contacts. I need to be able to see clearly from the corners of my eyes.
Max and Kenny appear to be the only ones with a prescription in their lenses. I hate it when people who don't need glasses wear glasses. The WORST kind of hipsters! Or maybe I am just mad because I am a very myopic girl :(
The only one that definitely didn't have a prescription was Paul. Ngozi clearly has one and it's hard to tell on Cindy. Not sure why everyone is so quick to assume they don't.

So, I'm missing two things:
1) I'm missing where they're saying that they're wearing them and don't need them (maybe I missed it... and I don't even really see what would be the huge deal if they did, but whatever)
2) How anybody even got past the fact that Ngozioparia is a goddess long enough to make that most played out of complaints: "Fu**ing Hipsters".
