Watch the new 'Cloverfield'-esque trailer for J.J. Abrams' 'Super 8'

J.J. Abrams, the man who brought you Cloverfield, in all its shaky Handycam glory, now brings you Super 8, a movie about kids with a camera who discover some unnamed, unseen monster. Don't worry. It's totally not the exact same movie: they're children and they're in a small town. The fact that you apparently don't see the creature for eighty percent of the movie, the kids inexplicably carry the camera everywhere, and the army comes in to shoot stuff are just coincidences.

Similarities aside, what is different about this film is that Abrams gets behind the camera on this one which he's only done twice before for a feature. Mission: Impossible III and Star Trek were successes (commercially, at least), so nothing is to say this won't be. And, with Steven Spielberg producing, you know there is no shortage of money or resources at his disposal. Hopefully all that money will buy them some steadier camera work than Cloverfield's. I really don't feel like hurling in a theater aisle again. Check out the trailer below.
