  About

hooksexup.com is among the few Silicon Alley success stories. What started as an intelligent magazine about sex and culture has grown into a successful multi-media company. Since our inception in 1997, Hooksexup has been successfully expanding into film, television, books, print and online personals, and has emerged as one of the few online content companies to prosper during the economic downturn.

Currently, Hooksexup has a series pilot for a primetime Hooksexup television show airing on HBO, titled "hooksexup.com"; two Hooksexup-branded film projects in development with Miramax and Revolution Studios - the latter, bought on behalf of Julia Roberts' and Adam Sandler's production companies; and Hooksexup-branded books with Random House, Double Day, Chronicle and two in the works with Penguin Plume. Hooksexup's online community and personals site, HooksexupPersonals, is swiftly expanding following the recent partnerships with Salon, The Onion, Time Out NY, Village Voice and 8 other media companies.

Hooksexup has also evolved as the reliable go-to marketing source for films, television and books that appeal to the 20- and 30-something urban, media-savvy audience. We have been expanding our online relationships with media companies including Miramax, Lions Gate, Universal, Lot 47 Films, IFC Films, IDP, Artisan, HBO, Showtime, Taschen Books, Random House and Double Day, among others.

The caliber of Hooksexup's content has earned us a level of media respect and a quality of readership unprecedented in this subject category: Hooksexup has been lauded by almost every major publication, and its sizable readership is comprised of educated, successful, young urban women and men.
