Barack "8 Team Playoff" Obama Looks Like A Genius Right About Now

On 60 Minutes (and, before that, Monday Night Football) Barack Obama argued for an 8-team college football playoff  to determine college football's national champion. Well, now the President-Elect looks very wise, indeed. See, #5 Oklahoma just destroyed undefeated and #2 ranked Texas Tech, 65-14 -- but was unable to move ahead in the rankings of Texas, which beat Oklahoma, but lost to Tech.

So you've got three teams, all with one loss, and all 1-1 against each other -- and some weird computer program that no one understands determining which of these teams is best. That's what known in the college football community as "an oncoming shitstorm." And if one-loss Florida defeats undefeated Alabama on December 6th, the shit will start raining down hotter and heavier.

Of course, if you had an 8-team playoff like Obama suggested, every team with a legit argument for being in the title game would be in the playoff, and this could be decided on the field and not in the microchips. That way, you wouldn't have the possibility of being left with a title game on TV that many viewers at home see as unfair and illegitimate. It was bad enough when that happened eight years ago with a Presidential election.
