Reader Feedback on "Really Real Sex"
I thought this show was off the air? I liked when it ran. There was something shocking about Jane Alexander's sex scene... Yes she's an older woman but it's more than that. For the viewer, she was at arm's length from her own sexuality until that moment. Thus the shock. I was intrigued by the writer's cavalier attitude towards sexual matters. My sense was that she's more demure than this piece reveals. I'm not sure how I came to that? Perhaps her photo? Stunning by the way Tommy J

In spite of the artifice, any scene that shows a fully-completed hand job ( with 'money shot') may open the way for real films like Intimacy to get an airing on premium cable.

"Tell Me You Love Me" is the kind of show that makes you want to have sex. Not because it turns you on but just to reassure yourself that the experience is actually fun and an act of love. This show is absolutely unwatchable and despite all of the displays of ball sac and faux penis it will be surely canceled in favor of something with a plot and better dialogue. There's a reason they stuck it in at the end of Summer instead of the immediate wake of "The Sopranos."

i like the show so far, and i think your critique is pretty dead on. as naturalistic as the show is, i find that certain scenarios (like the couple stuggling to get pregnant) are loaded with cliches that the show has yet to buck. i am not quite hooked yet, but i am going to keep up with it.

interesting that the writer views 60-somethings as "senior citizens"...wow, break the news to all the amazing, vital "creatives" that still make up a huge portion of our musical, literary, theatrical culture. It's amazing that on this "hipster" site, for all the talk, agism, is alive and well. Doesn't she know that sixty is the new forty? Ah, but in that light, 40 is the march to decreptitude... The show explores sexuality and relationships ala the human condition. Not about marveling that 60-somethings are actually still doing it. A bit naive, doncha think? The fact that the writer feels compelled to point out that an older couple is having sex, reminds me of a kid freaking out that his parents might actually "do it." Paleeeez...60-somethings as senior citizens. Someone please make sure Sting's renewed his AARP membership!
