Jacques Magazine's analog style is what you imagine when you hear "vintage skin mag."
Jacques is an erotic magazine "where beautiful, powerful and dangerous women reign supreme." After a long hiatus, its eighth issue, "the Betrayal Issue," is out. In a rare move for the industry, its voluptuous, femme fatale models were shot on film and unretouched, which gives the photography a throwback feel, but with a feminist bent that makes the magazine contemporary. It feels like an artsy old Playboy. Instead of a Hugh Hefner, though, Jacques is the vision of editor-in-chief Danielle Leder, who appears in the magazine as The Wife. The women in these pictures all give me the same feeling that Barbara Stanwyck in Double Indemnity provokes. I'd leave Jacques in the woods for boys to discover if it didn't cost $15.
Here are some highlights from "the Betrayal Issue."
