Behind the curtain and under the sheets.
For over five decades, people have been reading Playboy magazine for the articles. Well, what about the topless photo spreads? So much work, that a glimpse behind-the-scenes would draw a far less aroused response if you could see it.
Dutch photographer and art director Patrick Van Dam is granting the world that ultimate backstage pass with his book Playboy Behind the Scenes. The large coffee table book features snapshots from hundreds of Playboy shoots in studios and remote locations that Van Dam collected over his seven years as director of shoots for Dutch Playboy. The images are eye opening to the length of awkward, inelegant efforts taken by both the crew and models to create the glamorous shots featured in the magazine.
At first glance, it seems as though the photos were taken in secret, but they weren't. In fact, Hugh Hefner himself wrote the foreword for the book, saying "In these compelling images, Patrick has captured the soul of the Playboy shoot and offered a true celebration of, and homage to, the people who make these beautiful things happen."
Here are a look at a few NSFW snapshots from Playboy Behind the Scenes.
