Watch: President Obama announces Osama bin Laden's death

President Obama announced Sunday night that Osama bin Laden has been killed in a firefight in Pakistan, as per Obama's order. It's been confirmed that bin Laden was shot in the head at least once and that the U.S. has retrieved his corpse. (What do they with the body now, by the way? I really don't know.) "Justice has been done," Obama declared, to the delight of Americans and onlookers around the world. Celebration has already taken root in D.C., where crowds have gathered outside the White House to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner," chant "USA!" and, rather awesomely, sing "We Are the Champions." A festive mood has broken out here in New York as well; people have congregated at Ground Zero and Times Square to celebrate the occasion. All around, it's a good day.

Capturing him would have been better, and I'd put money on it that he'd be in Gitmo in a flash, tied to a board with a cloth over his face while a fire hose sprayed him down. But that's just wishful thinking.
