"This Valentine's Day, why give a diamond, when you can give the family jewels?" This is the relationship wisdom we've come to expect and depend on from CBS, and their latest testicular-cancer spots don't disappoint. Check out the above PSA for a much-needed (and much mood-lit) reminder that nothing says "romance" like "routine testicular self-examination," and know that if your next couples' night in ends abruptly with a ball exam — the non-fun kind — you have CBS to thank.

I see how cutting your balls off and giving them to your lover will, in essence, prevent testicular cancer, but I still don't find it to be very good advice....

I heard a doctor talking about testicular cancer exams on some daytime talk show, back when Lance Armstrong had just recovered from it. The doc gave the very good advice to have your partner do it once a month, at the same time as you give her a breast exam. The ball exam is only really necessary about once a year, he explained, but tying it to the breast exam means you both remember to do both, plus as he said with a grin "It's more fun".
