Videotaping yourself lip-syncing to Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" is the new making a "Shit _____ Say[s]": it's a cheap, expedient, mind-bogglingly unimaginative way to guarantee at least 5,000 hits on YouTube (they'll also both guarantee you at least one less potential sex partner, if any of them bother to Google your name). The ladies at the Miss USA pageant, however, don't seem to share this concern: the fifty-one contestants, as well as co-hosts Andy Cohen and Giuliana Rancic and Miss USA owner Donald Trump, all appear in a lip-dub video of the insanely infectious tune, following in the footsteps of such lip-syncing luminaries as the Harvard baseball team, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, and, um, Ashley Tisdale. (Who, for whatever reason, somehow seems more deserving of a contemptuous "um" than either Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, or Selena Gomez. Sorry, Ash, honey; I don't make the rules).
There's really not much more about this that needs to be said, so I will conclude by preeminently addressing the following questions: no, it does not look like the "Call Me Maybe" craze will be going away anytime soon; yes, it's totally normal for a song to get so stuck in your head that you actually dream about yourself hearing it and complaining it's stuck in your head; and no, as far as we know, medical science has not proven that a catchy Canadian pop tune can, in fact, give you a terminal illness. So hopefully that puts y'alls minds at ease.
