Retro nudes: what is not to love? The bodies are natural, the models' enthusiasm is contagious, the pubic-hair configurations are a comic slam-dunk. This is my personal equation: naked people + '70s haircuts = good times. But something about Naked as a Jaybird (Taschen) lends twisted context to a fairly simple turn-on. And I'm not talking about the spread involving a dentist's chair. Well, not right now. The photos here are collected from issues of Jaybird, which began in 1962 as an earnest nudist magazine and, over the next decade, evolved into a trashy, tripped-out hippie sex rag with pictorials incorporating gorilla suits and spaceships.
