What would you surmise about a photographer who has inspired articles titled "Master of the Erotic," "Slit With Tit" and " Aggressive Erotica"? You could assume that this is a photographer who has no qualms about "going there." You could surmise that he is well-regarded. Or that he is Tony Ward. Yes, with the man behind the legendary books Obsessions, Orgasm, and Orgasm XL, what you see is what you get, and what you get is rarely polite.
Since 1993, the Philadelphia native has made even us blush with his raw, sometimes carnal imagery. His pictures are rife with high heels, big boobs, penetration and other non-subtle themes of the pornographic. However, his work possesses a quirkiness and vision that seem very personal. Ward, who works closely with his wife and muse, Sandy, has always been a darling of curators, writers and critics, even though he lives on the edge of acceptability.
