Apple patents anti-sexting software

The crusade to sterilize the Apple image into a gleaming, user-friendly beacon of information and communication (no touching!) is almost complete. After whitewashing all apps having to do with sex or sexiness from their products, Apple is now seeking to install an anti-sexting device in the iPhone. How will it be controlled? By parental controls. Call it the V-chip for the new generation:
In one embodiment, the control application includes a parental control application. The parental control application evaluates whether or not the communication contains approved text based on, for example, objective ratings criteria or a user’s age or grade level, and, if unauthorized, prevents such text from being included in the text-based communication.
If the control contains unauthorized text, the control application may alert the user, the administrator or other designated individuals of the presence of such text. The control application may require the user to replace the unauthorized text or may automatically delete the text or the entire communication. [Tech Crunch]
Kids will just have to think outside of the box to get their message across, and isn't that a great directive for the young? You can get over the hump of censorship, if you're clever enough. And then you can screw.

Oh Christ, Apple started screwing us over with the Apple III, the Lisa, and then the stupid little box thing with 124k of memory, all incapable of being upgraded. What else is new?

I think this is awesome, hopefully by the time I have kids they'll have something that will allow me to block them from sending naked photos to their boyfriends. They'll thank me later.
Why? I'm sure you've done it. Its a lesson to be learned. Either it will end horridly, or they will get out all their sexual frustrations via text message instead of fucking while you're not at home. Dont want them sending nudes? Here's an idea.... Dont get them a PHONE! :0! And when they're old enough, make them payfor it themselves. Did sexting make you start fucking? did it ruin your life? are you all fucked up now because of sexting? i doubt it. But you probably learned your lesson. I mean shit, its JUST tits. Everyone has tits. Its just a dick. Guys all have dicks. People learn to get over it
Another way of looking at this is that smart kids may actually start getting some. My teenage nerds rejoice.

Good luck with a text filter. Most of text communications consists of a dense, dynamic, and highly abbreviated argot that is basically impenetrable to a text filter. And there is no practical way to distinguish a naughty picture from a nice picture, so all of this is pretty useless. This is just patent lawyers trying to cover every conceivable permutation of the technology.
