Why does anyone still give a shit about making Valentine's Day special, never mind actually acknowledging it at all? I must be really old in the brain, terribly cynical, or both... or something else.
god, i never realized just how many ways someone could be a boorish jerk. the "lol" thing mentioned above, the "high value" gifts, the "cudding institute." i think i need to go do some sort of brain cleanse, stat.

How did Valentine's Day get this hated. I mean, I can understand hating the commercials, the expense, etc etc. But what makes it so hard for people to back up and say "Hey, none of that stuff is what Valentine's Day is about" and just have a day of observance. If you truly love a person, you won't ever need to buy a bunch of crap for one day to prove it. I'm celebrating just talking to my long distance boyfriend on Skype in PJs and planning to eat the same food so it's like we are having dinner together. Not that big a deal and not expensive at all.

Soooo glad I don't live in America...
So are we....
Anyone who uses "lol" repeatedly and ironically and refers to themselves as "quite amusing" ...isn't.
*unironically

these are the worst yet--especially #1.
Anyone who cannot spell or use any sort of BASIC grammar should not be making boring (at best) comments about Valentine's Day.
