Hey look, it's Scrat again. And what do you know, he's still going after that acorn. Oh Scrat, will you never learn? But I think the biggest question is this- has there ever been a blockbuster franchise whose marketing has been so focused on a character who's this tangential to the story? Think about it- the kids love Scrat. Heck, I like Scrat. All of the teasers for the Ice Age movies have been Scrat-centric. Yet the movies themselves have almost nothing to do with Scrat. How long will it take for audiences to figure this out? The protagonists of the Ice Age movies are pretty forgettable and more than a little annoying, especially the John Leguizamo-voiced sloth. Has it ever occurred to the geniuses at Blue Sky to actually just make a Scrat movie? Because that I'd see. They can even keep the dinosaurs if they want.
