I’m considering a one-night stand, just to prove to myself that I don’t need attention from other women.

Dear Hooksexup,
I’m guy in my early thirties in a really great relationship. We’ve been together for three years and things are pretty close to perfect. Now that we both have stable jobs and have already lived together for a year, we’ve been talking a lot about marriage. It’s something I always assumed would happen and I’m pretty sure she’s "the one"—but I’m not positive.
Before my girlfriend and I started dating, I dated around a lot and "settling down" was never in my plans. Now that things have changed, I can’t help but wonder if I’m missing out on something I let go of too easily. I’m worried that there’s a chance I could be happier in an open relationship-type situation. But I’ve also don’t want to lose her—I don’t think she can be replaced.
So my question is: Can I cheat on my girlfriend to make sure she’s the one I want to marry? I’m only considering a one-night stand thing, just to prove to myself that I don’t need sex or attention from women other than her. I’m also considering telling her this, but I’ve been completely faithful to her so far, and I’m afraid she’ll think she can’t trust me anymore. What do I do?
