Amy Poehler and Will Arnett
Poehler and Arnett have collaborated since they were married in 2003, the year Arnett was cast as George Oscar "Gob" Bluth II in Arrested Development. Poehler co-starred a few times as Gob's wife. Later, the couple played a possibly-incestuous brother-sister figure-skating pair in Blades of Glory, and Arnett recently acted in Poehler's latest project, NBC's Parks and Recreation. Now, they are collaborating on a new project: babies. In 2008, Poehler gave birth to their first son, Archie, whom the couple joked wouldn't inherit a sense of humor and would instead end up being "a little Sean Penn." Their second son, Abel, was born in August.
Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann
Comedy powerhouse Judd Apatow has obviously got the writing chops for Hollywood. He's also got a funny, beautiful wife in the form of Leslie Mann, who acts in most of his films. The couple met in 1996 on the set of The Cable Guy. Apatow co-wrote and produced the film, and it was Mann's first big movie role. A year later, the creative union became a legal one. In the last few years, they've kept busy writing and directing and acting in about half the romantic comedies worth seeing.
Kristen Schaal and Rich Blomquist
Daily Show correspondent Kristin Schaal met boyfriend and Daily Show writer Rich Blomquist in 2008 when they were both working on an Adult Swim pilot called Snake and Bacon. The network didn't pick up the show, but Blomquist did pick up Schaal. On The Daily Show, which is apparently a sort of comedy loveshack, Blomquist helps Schaal with her bits. In July, the couple got up close and personal in their Sexy Book of Sexy Sex. One lesson from that helpful tome: instead of finding your porn star name by combining your first pet's name with the street you grew up on, couple your favorite alcoholic beverage with your biggest insecurity.
Steve Carell and Nancy Walls
When Steve Carell married Saturday Night Live alumna Nancy Walls in 1996, neither of them were household names. Carell was an improv teacher at Second City, and Walls was but an eager student. In the past fifteen years, they've collaborated on a bunch of projects — they worked as correspondents on the Daily Show, and Walls has appeared in The 40-Year-Old Virgin and The Office — and become famous as hell.
Samantha Bee and Jason Jones
Daily Show correspondents Samantha Bee and Jason Jones met in 1996 while working on a touring Sailor Moon children's show. They bonded over how much they hated their jobs and eventually married in 2001. Since then, they've stated an intention to "procreate like farmers" — they're on their way with Piper (four), Fletcher (two), and a third in the oven. The couple keeps busy in other ways, too: Jones wrote and starred in the dysfunctional Christmas film Coopers' Camera with Bee in 2008, and Bee published her first book this year. Now a sitcom starring Bee as a celebrity chef and Jones as her doting sous chef is in the works. A tongue-in-cheek sex manual can't be far behind.
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi
After a short marriage to filmmaker Mel Metcalfe (she did it for a green card) in 1996, De Rossi quietly dated Ringo Starr's stepdaughter for four years, and then she met Ellen, backstage at an awards show in 2004. The ladies quickly fell in love, the tabloids outed De Rossi, and in 2008, DeGeneres and De Rossi married. In August, De Rossi filed a petition to legally change her last name to DeGeneres. Because you know, Portia De Rossi-DeGeneres doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.
