It can be a bit disorienting to see your fav actor and actress from a period drama in real life, bit the Game of Thrones cast is especially unrecognizable. As we gear up for the show's anticipated return this Sunday, we thought we'd do a little side-by-side comparison. Who's sexier in their Ren Faire garb and who should stick to the 21st century?
Daenerys Targaryen
I guess if you’re born in the middle of a storm, your hair grows in like a wild white-out-type snowstorm. And you’re like the Dr. Doolittle of dragon-taming, even if you’re not so great at naming them (like after your dead husband). Regardless, Daenerys gets a 10 for her badass ruling prowess.
Theon Greyjoy
Alfie Allen has boyish good looks (and a name straight out of a Judy Bloom novel) but leather, furs and crude weapons just seem to work for Theon Greyjoy.
Bronn
While Jerome Flynn is sexy in his own right, Bronn is scary-sexy because he has fire arrows and isn’t afraid to use them.
Aidan Gillen
The mustache-goatee combo didn’t work for Jafar and it doesn’t work for Petyr Baelish. Plus, look at that kitten! Can you guys see the kitten? Did we mention the kitten?
Kit Harington
We’re all for defending your honor and silent stoicism, but all that wintry garb Jon Snow wears is just hiding his Adonis-like body underneath.
Cersei Lannister
Brown hair and a natural bohemian look are no match for velvet robes and a hip-length wig.
Peter Dinklage
Though Tyrion Lannister’s conniving ways earn the character some sexy points, we’re gonna have to side with Peter Dinklage’s suit n’ tie n’ scruff.
Robb Stark
Our favorite GoT character will always look best in our eyes when he’s wearing a breastplate.
Catelyn Stark
Though she told her son not to follow his heart, her character has stolen ours.
Iain Glen
We can’t blame Ser Jorah for his schoolboy crush on Daenerys, but we’re not so sure why she reciprocates. Iain Glen’s real-life aesthetic, while not too different, is just the right mix of rugged and polished that makes us swoon.
