$42,000 Webcam Session With a Dominatrix Is the Most Expensive Webcam Session Ever
We’re always going to want to watch people get naked. Some of us are even willing to pay $42,000 for it.

$40,000 can buy you a low-end Mercedes-Benz, four Hermes Birkin bags, or a whole neighborhood in Detroit. It can also buy you an hour-long private webcam session with dominatrix Maitresse Madeline, as proved in a recent record-breaking auction by Kink.com.
Kink is known for their BDSM and bondage videos, all filmed at their massive San Francisco armory-turned-dungeon. The company auctioned off the session with Madeline as a test case for “a new way of marketing and profiting off of adult content,” and it seems to have been quite a success – the two-week long auction climbed to $10,000 within three days and topped out at $42,000. Asked about the high prices, Maitresse Madeline explained that, “By the time we reach these high end bid amounts we’re dealing with another level of customer… willing to pay for the performer they want, when they want and how they want. They’re often paying for the ambiguity that a webcam relationship can create and that relationship over webcam is, essentially, their fetish.”
The traditional porn industry has been decimated by the advent of the internet and the wealth of free, constantly accessible porn it offers, and so exploring new avenues for profit, such as private shows with in-demand performers, has become increasingly important to providers of adult content. The auction proves that customers are willing to pay a sometimes astonishing premium for “one-to-one” shows. Maitresse Madeline, as a “noted domme” and porn director for Kink, is certainly commanding far higher prices than even the most successful cam girls on a site like MyFreeCams, who might be pulling in $300 on a good day.
Kink claims it won’t be turning its back on recorded content, hoping to eventually offer a Netflix-like library of porn with targeted recommendations to customers. But the porn industry’s embrace (and monetization) of the technology that once threatened to destroy it proves that from cave paintings to cam shows, porn evolves along with us. We’re always going to want to watch people get naked. Some of us are even willing to pay $42,000 for it.
