Amanda on grown-up shoes, silk dresses, and getting dressed without a lot of money

Amanda interviewed for hooksexup.com's fashion blog tools of attraction

What are you wearing?
It's kind of embarrassing. I got these socks at a thrift store. The skirt was Abercrombie and Fitch from a million years ago — I have it pulled up really high. It's normally really long. This jacket is from Urban Outfitters, and my hat is from Forever 21.

So it's from all over the place.
Pretty much. I don't have a lot of money

But it looks really coordinated and much more expensive than it is. Not an easy thing to do. Would you describe your style typically as mix-and-match?
It's whatever looks cool to me.

Do you keep a lot of stuff over the years and change it up as the style change?
Yeah, I'm much too lazy for anything else. I like to take old things and style them differently.

Like you did to your skirt?
Exactly. I only get rid of stuff if I haven't worn it in a million years. Like I said, I don't have a lot of money.

What do you do for a job?
I'm a student right now, a PR major, graphic design minor, and I work at a health food store.

What about guys. What do guys wear that's sexy?
Oh man, just like classic clean things. I was at a cafe today and there was this guy who was speaking French and just had on a button down shirt and jeans. It's really how you wear it.

And the accent helps.
Oh my God, yeah.

What about style dealbreakers?
I dated a guy and his look was just stuck in high school. He'd just wear hoodies. Looking grown-up is important. I'm anti-skate shoes. The loafer look is kind of cute.

How does your look change when you go out versus now, in the daytime?
I haven't really thought about it, but I'm really into silk dresses. For going out? Less clothing, I guess.
