Susan Sarandon's Nazi-pope comment isn't going over well

Eager to grab some of that great post-Nazi comment buzz Lars von Trier is currently enjoying, Susan Sarandon called Pope Benedict XVI a Nazi (twice, for good measure) in a recent interview.
Sarandon and Bob Balaban were talking to a reporter about her film Dead Man Walking at the Hamptons Film Festival when the incident occurred. The actress mentioned how she had sent a copy of the anti-death penalty book that inspired the movie to His Holiness. "The last one, not this Nazi one we have now," she added. Balaban "tut-tutted" (bush league, Bob — "tisk-tisking" is the only appropriate response here), but Sarandon repeated her statement.
The Anti-Defamation League is asking Sarandon to apologize, calling her words a "disturbing, deeply offensive, and uncalled for attack on the good name of Pope Benedict XVI." The Catholic League of America also weighed in:
"Susan Sarandon's ignorance is willful: those who have hatred in their veins are not interested in the truth. The fact is that Joseph Ratzinger [the Pope] was conscripted at the age of 14 into the Hitler Youth, along with every other young German boy. Unlike most of the other teenagers, Ratzinger refused to go to meetings, bringing economic hardship to his family. Moreover, unlike most of the others, he deserted at the first opportunity. Sarandon's comment is obscene. Sadly, it's what we've come to expect from her."
Well, this must have been a fun morning for Uniqlo.

Actually, it's the response that works. The name has nothing to do with it. That's why you fail with your trolling: your comments are stupid and you're a pussy for hiding behind a different name EVERY time you reply. You never actually comment on anything do you?
