Amy Adams cast as Lois Lane in new Superman movie

Amy Adams

Upholding the sort of weird tradition actors have of following up Oscar nods (or actual wins) with superhero movies, Amy Adams has been cast as Lois Lane in the upcoming remake of Superman. "There was a big, giant search for Lois," said Zack Snyder, the movie's director. "For us it was a big thing and obviously a really important role. We had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it."

The actress, who most recently earned a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for The Fighter, will star as the wholesome love of Clark Kent's life alongside cast members Henry Cavill, Diane Lane, and Kevin Costner. Chances are the role's a perfect fit for Adams, and certainly makes a little more sense than her upcoming turn as Janis Joplin.

I think you might need to do some factchecking. It's not Amy Adams in the Janis Joplin movie, it's Jenna Maroney.

She's the best under-40 American movie actress. She does no wrong. This doesn't seem like the best use of her talents but...I trust her judgment.
