Seth MacFarlane

Seth MacFarlane and his deep, creepy voice are at it again. The Family Guy creator is working on a new feature-length comedy with Mark Wahlberg, about a man and his teddy bear. The bear, voiced by MacFarlane, was brought to life by Wahlberg's character as a kid, but has severely overstayed its welcome. Ted will explore the relationship between the two and how terribly this grown man's life is affected by a stuffed animal.

Since selling Wahlberg on this premise, MacFarlane has moved on to recruiting other stars. He got Mila Kunis, who plays Meg on Family Guy, and just yesterday, added Giovanni Ribisi. No roles have been attached to the two, but my guesses would be frustrated love interest and snarky friend respectively. Either way, the addition of more high-profile actors to a reported sixty-five million-dollar budget point to this being more than a side project.

The premise, however, seems pretty textbook for MacFarlane. It sounds more like a Stewie & Rupert (Stewie's teddy bear) live-action spin-off than anything. But, if you're a fan of dragged-out jokes, strange musical numbers, and lowbrow political gags — this time mixed with real-life Hollywood stars — this one might be for you.

It also sounds a lot like the beaver.
