People really seem to be playing off type here: Helen Mirren as a domestic, Jennifer Garner as a sex kitten, Russell Brand as funny... (NB: Garner is a very attractive lady, but she's mostly struck me as a girl-next-door type. That growl she gives off near the end is not exactly 13 Going On 30 material.) Point being, Brand actually made me laugh once during this trailer for the remake of Dudley Moore's Arthur, which is impressive:

Also, mumblecore darling Greta Gerwig plays the true love interest in the film, not that you'd know from this trailer. And hopefully this will be more successful than Mirren's and Brand's last collaboration, The Tempest.

"Helen Mirren as a domestic." I guess you never saw Gosford Park? As much as I loathe Russell Brand, I love Helen Mirren. I might have to see this just to see what she does with Gielgud's character from the original.

I love Mirren in Gosford Park, profrobert, but I feel like she always has a royal air about her. Even in that film!

Oh fer fuck's sake. The bottom of the barrel for needless remakes of movies that weren't that great to begin with has now officially been scraped clean through.

Anyone remember the Arthur remake from three years-ish ago that SUCKED? Clearly not, because if we hadn't all blocked it out there would be no way they'd be making another one so soon. And I'm guessing this one will flop too, because while both movies were advertised as fun playful romps, in truth the story is totally depressing and doesn't end happily. Unless the filmmakers of this Arthur change the end of the story, this remake will tank too.

No, because there wasn't one. What are you talking about?
