Alec Baldwin: 30 Rock is over after next year

It is really hard for me to write this — I let out a long, loud "Nooo!" and shook my fists at the sky — but it seems like 30 Rock may end in 2012. Alec Baldwin, at a fundraising gala for the National Dance Institute of all places, foretold the death of the series. It was already common knowledge that next season would likely be his last, but the whole series dying comes as a bit of a shock. According to him, the end has a lot to do with the brightening of Tina Fey's star:
Our contracts are expired [in 2012], and Tina is gonna have a big career directing films and writing. She's going to be the next Elaine May. She'll be great.
Though I'm weeping inside, that is understandable. Fey is slowly taking over the world and probably has a lot of huge projects to work on. I just wish it didn't spell the end of such a great show. Realistically, though, if Liz Lemon and Jack Donaghy move on there is no show. So, get in as much 30 Rock as you can before it's over. And while you reminisce, shed a tear for Tracy Morgan, as well. He's the real victim in all this. What is that guy going to do with his life after this? Hopefully, for his sake, somebody will need him to play himself again, at some point in the future.

30 Rock is great an all, but it is slowly wearing out. Better to end on a high note than a long unfunny death.
The should end after Baldwin or Fey leave. Their relationship is the heart of the show and the only thing that has always been good for the past 5 seasons. Better to end it on a high note with some creative control than drag it way too long (like what The Office is doing).
Great show, but it will have been long enough. About every 3rd sow now, you can see that they're straining a bit.
That's an envious record for comedies going on 5 seasons
In the next episode, I hear that Alec will be jumping a shark tank on a motorcycle.
