Does anyone still read Cosmopolitan? (Ladies, if we boycott FHM, will you cancel your subscriptions?) Apparently, someone does, since they voted on nominees for the "Cosmopolitan Ultimate Woman Of The Year," whatever that means. And the winners are...
Christina Hendricks, Gemma Arterton, Katy Perry and Alexandra Burke.
Burke is the X Factor winner who dissed Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" after arguably butchering it on the show, saying she didn't like the song or the "original". (I put that in quotes because I'm not sure which recording she thought was the original.) She did such a controversial cover that fans of Jeff Buckley banded together to make his version #2 in an attempt to knock her off the top of the charts. Instead, Burke's version broke all sorts of records and sold over one million copies.
How will we be able to mock all those Sexiest Woman Alive lists if Cosmo is doing one too? I also suggest starting any "Ultimate Woman Of The Year" post by considering our own Secretary of State in America or Brazil's newly-elected President and go from there.
