Ben Stiller hosted SNL for the second time in his career last night, and though we didn't get to see his Bono or Tom Cruise, we were treated to the return of "New York's hottest male model" ten years later, the vapid Derek Zoolander, billed in the eponymous movie as having "3% body fat, 1% brain activity." And this time, there was no assassination plot involving the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
This go-around, the model/failed miner joined the epicene, colorful-shirted city correspondent Stefon to promote a hot VIP Halloween party in the middle of the Hudson river, because "For too long, Halloween in New York's been a quiet, almost religion-y holiday for old people and babies." Zoolander announced that "All proceeds go to benefit the Derek Zoolander Foundation For Fat Kids Who Are Fat But Not Like In A Cute Way Like That Fat Kid On Modern Family," which reminded us of "The Derek Zoolander Center For Kids Who Can't Read Good And Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Good Too" from the movie.
Derek also showed off the newest addition to his repertoire of looks, the devastating "Cold Coffee," which curiously resembled the famous "Blue Steel." If "Cold Coffee" isn't enough to scratch your Zoolander itch, you'll be pleased to know that the script for Zoolander 2, or "Twolander," as Owen Wilson calls it, was completed months ago, with the role of Mugatu written in for Will Ferrell, who is reportedly interested in returning as the devious fashion mogul.
