Courtney Love and Frances Bean

Given that it's caused her major legal and PR-related problems time after time after time, you'd think Courtney Love would have learned by now what is and is not a good idea to tell the entire world via Twitter. But you'd be wrong.

Earlier this week, Love took to her personal Twitter account to make a series of garbled-yet-vehement accusations against Dave Grohl, alleging that the Foo Fighter slept with her daughter Frances Bean, even though he's known her since she was a baby. To add insult to injury, she also described Grohl as having "that Romney rape thing about him." Apparently, Frances Bean was as surprised and grossed out by this as the rest of us were, and released the following statement:

"While I'm generally silent on the affairs of my biological mother, her recent tirade has taken a gross turn. I have never been approached by Dave Grohl in more than a platonic way. I'm in a monogamous relationship and very happy.

Twitter should ban my mother."

In spite of the entertainment value, she'll get no arguments here. She'll also get no arguments from Grohl, who said, "Unfortunately Courtney is on another hateful Twitter rant. These new accusations are upsetting, offensive, and absolutely untrue." Firstly, thank God, because if all this were true, it would be horrifying. Secondly, isn't there some way to cut off Courtney's access to technology? At this point it would be a public service.

Grohl's been happily married for years. And I'm sure he treats Frances just like a daughter. Courtney is clearly insane (as if there wasn't enough proof of that already).

ugh

The only thing dumber than stupid Twitter fights is actually treating them like news.
