Lost Love Letter Reunites Couple After 17 Years

Every once in a while we come across a love story so sickeningly sweet we have a hard time believing it's true. This is one of those stories.

Steve Smith and Carmen Ruiz-Perez fell in love seventeen years ago, while she was a foreign exchange student in the UK. The two were quickly engaged but split when she move to Paris for work. In an attempt to get his lady love back, Smith sent a letter to Perez's parents' house in Spain, but apparently it fell behind the fireplace and was lost.... forever. Until now. During renovation, builders removed the fireplace and found the letter. The rest, of course, is history. Smith and Perez were married on Friday. [Yahoo!]
