Study Says Love Is Worth A Quarter Of A Million Dollars

A very strange and questionably scientific new survey seems to indicate that love is worth roughly £163,424, or about $270,000. How did researchers pinpoint such a bizarre figure and what does it even mean?

You Are Really Rich, You Just Don't Know It Yet, by former ad executives Steve Henry and David Alberts, aims to show there is more to life than money.

It puts the value of being in a stable relationship at £154,849 while placed on spending time with good mates is said to be worth £63,256, reports the Daily Telegraph.

‘The book is about a new value system, an alternative to a purely financial system,’ said Mr Henry. ‘Partly because, as a direct result of the credit crunch, people are exploring different ways of living, and they're looking for something to replace money as a general criterion for value.’

A study was carried out by research specialist Brainjuicer who asked over 1,000 people nationally what made them happy. They were asked to rate 50 different life events and experiences and compare them with the pleasure gained from a lottery windfall. [Marie Claire UK]

"Good health" is worth 200,000 quid, which seems like a lot for a country with nationalized/socialized/Hitler-lover healthcare.
