Ladies, are your areolas big and pink? Little and brown? Medium-size and pinkish-brown?
According to a new study, if they're big and brown, you're a filthy whore.
Just kidding! But there are medical factors that influence the size and color of your areolas.
Apparently, newborns can only distinguish light color from dark color, so if you've just given birth, or are pregnant, your areolas will probably be darker, so your little one can find his food source. Neat, right?
Now, if you're not pregnant or breast feeding and one nipple becomes discolored or crusty (crusty nipples!) call your doctor. That is not good.
Or, um, just don't like your pale areolas? These guys can help. But we don't recommend calling them.
