Reader Feedback on "On the Prowl"
Steve, you so rock. The book looks really pretty and impressive, with its black leather binding and gold-edged pages, but your top ten hit points version gives away the innate silliness. Also, I'm pleased to say, I work at a bookstore and it's not moving at all. Lastly, as a sidebar, I read a bunch of articles about Mystery as I was finishing Robert Greene's impressive and devious book, The Art of Seduction, and I think I've pegged the flaw -- the PUA mode of operations doesn't work on _women_ - it works only on the kind of woman who's used to being the passive object in seductions. Anyone with guts and passion and curiousity about the world - anyone, in other words, who wants to be an equal partner in the dance of attraction - will be basically immune.

I don't think I've ever felt lower being of and associated with the male sex than after reading that.

I just love this kind of stuff. Women as targets and men as some kind of magestic hunter/trickster. There is a site called the 'Gunwich' method that I've read as well. I believe that any guy who immediately wants to 'isolate' the 'target' could get as much pickup artist insider information from a sales seminar, as from this book. Qualify and close. Usually breaks down to being that simple. A common close to a hard sell is often to belittle the very person you are trying to swindle. So it goes. Sounds like a Leisure Suit Larry game.
