A Sexy Condom Ad That Makes The World A Better Place
Blow your load in L. Condoms for charity.

We're bombarded with information about eating local and organic food. Conscious living is a movement that includes organic beer, cloth diapers and many other environmental and social shifts. If you lead a sustainable life then why wouldn't you have sustainable sex? L. Condoms is promoting their brand with a new ad, brimming with sexual innuendo. They highlight the idea that condoms are just another way to be manly in the modern age, and this couldn't come at a more necessary time.
In the commercial, the bearded hunk is camping, which we all know is the the manliest of manly activities. Tumbler of whiskey in hand, he's in control of everything around him. He pitches his tent with ease (wink wink), and strokes the fire while he glances into the camera. The voice-over comes in saying, "Good men aren't frightened by a healthy lifestyle," as he takes a ravenous bite out of a blood orange. Then the climax hits with a description of their condoms, "biodegradable, low-carbon footprint, recycled materials." Woo, my hipster lady bits can't get enough! The follow-up shows a still-life of chocolate, whipped cream (cherry on top) and L. Condoms. Yes please.
L. is motivating purchases with a 1 for 1 commitment. Just like Tom's shoes or Australia's Hero brand condoms, for every condom purchased, L. will give one to a person in a developing country. Inspired by the stories of girls and women affected by HIV/ AIDS, their goal is to be active participants in the fight against the disease.
It's not just developing countries who need to be more socially conscious either. In an eye-opening study, 70 percent of gay men believe sex without a condom is more pleasurable. If condoms became less like wearing sensible footwear and more like getting a proper fitting pair of kick-ass snow boots, they might have higher usage rates. It looks like L. Condoms just got well-deserved bragging rights and I know what I'll be talking about over brunch this weekend.
