  • Table on the Go

I don't know about you, but beautiful weather is sort of like my Prozac. Just about the time I think I might be headed for the loony bin – usually around early April every year — it finally warms the eff up and I'm able to break out of my cabin fever and get some fresh air again. Well, as fresh as the air can be in the middle of a big city. At any rate, I've been taking full advantage of this lovely late spring weather, which has meant lots of trips to the park with my boyfriend for hula-hooping, people-watching and picnic-ing. Yesterday, I picked up some amazing cheese, crackers, fruit, chocolate and a couple bottles of Delerium Tremens before we headed to Central Park, but sadly, I set my beer on the ground and then accidently knocked it over before I got to drink even half of it. Oh, the trauma! If only we'd had this awesome picnic table with us, I could have placed my beer on top of it and averted disaster. The table's perfect for city-dwellers like us, too, who have limited storage space and sometimes a long way to walk before we hit green lawns. Why? Well, check it out:

  • More Picnic Pleasure

After you get your awesome Barbecue/Cooloer Bag that Alex told us about on Friday, you're going to need a place to sit for your picnic. I'm sorry, a blanket on the ground might be okay for bread, cheese, and a bit of wine, but this is a barbecue-style picnic we're talking about! A blanket just won't do. You'll need a table. And seats. Luckily, you can get all of that (seating for 4!) in this handy foldable/portable deal. Pitchers of Heineken not included.

about the blogger

Wendy Atterberry is a recent transplant to New York City via Chicago. You can often find her at some karaoke dive bar singing her repertoire, which includes "Midnight Train to Georgia," "Daniel," and most recently, "Sweet Dreams." Don't expect her to always hit the right notes. She lives in Manhattan with her boyfriend and two cats, and has a blog like everyone else.

Alex Zalben is a writer living in New York City. He's written for McSweeney's, Modern Humorist and PulpSecret.com. As one-fifth of the sketch comedy group Elephant Larry, he has been written up in the New York Times, Chicago Tribune, and pretty much every other major publication. Their blog was named one of PC Magazine's Top Blogs for 2007, and they recently won an ECNY Award for their viral short, "Minesweeper: The Movie." Alex did not know love until he bought his first Mac.

Steph Auteri is a freelance writer and proofreader who has been published in Publishers Weekly, New York Press, Playgirl, and other bastions of fine writing. She maintains a professional site https://www.stephiswrite.com, and also blogs about freelancing over at Freelancedom. You can keep up on her day-to-day by visiting her Twitter page.

Diana Vilibert is a freelance writer, among other things. Born in Lithuania, she now lives in New Jersey, where she doesn't have to walk to work ten miles in the snow, barefoot, uphill both ways. Diana cannot afford most of the products she writes about because she buys too many pairs of heels to make up for her shoeless childhood. She's written for MarieClaire.com, Janemag.com, and CosmoGIRL!.
