  • Black Friday Sales: Amazon

Hey MM readers--since we're taking a vacation tomorrow to eat turkey, give thanks, and sleep in, today we'll be showing you the best of the Black Friday sales. Check back throughout the day for deals from your favorite stores!

I've done Black Friday exactly once, and that was only because I lived two blocks from the store. Other than that, I avoid the lines by going ONline (yes, I do get paid to do this). Hilariously, if you want the really good Black Friday online deals, you still need to wake up early, and spend all day refreshing websites, but at least you don't need to take your jammies off. Amazon always has some excellent deals, and here are three of my favorites:

  • Organic TV?

So, I'm not really sure what the environmental status is on this TV, really. Is it eco-friendly or not? It's all the times the word "organic" appears in the product description which makes me think it must be. It's the first TV with Organic Light Emitting Diode, which is a good thing, right? And it takes up much less environmental space as it's about as thin as a popsicle stick. Check it out:

  • OMG Teh Cute USB Sheep Lamp

Far be it from me to question the logic of a USB powered lamp, especially when it’s like, the cutest sheep in googles EVAH.

Okay, let’s go ahead and question that logic, now. Your computer is the thing that has USB ports, right? At least for the most part? And your computer has a monitor? Which is bright? And though I may be spoiled, sometimes your keys light up? So there’s really no benefit to having a lamp that only plugs into your computer, right?

That being said, SO CUTE! Official info, and pricing, after the jump...

  • Sometimes, a Cigar is Just a Complicated Electronic Device

How to celebrate Castro’s retirement as El Presidente of Cuba? I’d say light up a fine Cuban Cigar, except, just because Castro isn’t ruler anymore, it don’t mean Cubans are any more legal. So let’s try the next best thing, and break out the Natural Wood Effect Electronic Cigars!

The completely non-flaming device fits flavored nicotine cartridges into a wood casing, for that “I don’t know what a cigar is” effect we all crave. More details, including how to purchase this hot little smoker, after the jump...

  • Two, Two, Two Drives in One

Here’s a fun fact: some people aren’t large businesses. Did you know that? It’s true. In fact, I myself am not a large business. Yet, sometimes, I’d like to be able to use a RAID as large businesses do, without spending thousands of dollars to set one up.

Enter Lacie, who have released a fantastically priced, not closet sized expansion on their d2 Extreme series, the Lacie 2big Triple (2 Disk Raid). Not only do you get a Terabyte (!) of storage, the rack is loaded with two 500 GB swappable drives, FireWire 800, FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 interfaces, and runs at 7200 rpm...

  • Plug It In, Plug It In

A situation: You’re in your car, and you want a smoothie badly. You’ve just left the supermarket, have a bunch of bananas, some strawberries, non-fat vanilla ice cream, and your four-speed blender. So it seems a waste to stop by Jamba Juice, and you decide to make a smoothie in your car, while you’re driving.

Let’s say, for the sake of argument, the biggest problem with this scenario is that your blender doesn’t have a car adapter. Enter Black & Decker, who have the solution to all your non-smoothie drinking needs: a power adapter to turns your car into a three-pronged outlet! The 100 Watt Power Inverter converts your vehicle’s 12 volt DC power into 115 volts of AC blending power...

about the blogger

Wendy Atterberry is a recent transplant to New York City via Chicago. You can often find her at some karaoke dive bar singing her repertoire, which includes "Midnight Train to Georgia," "Daniel," and most recently, "Sweet Dreams." Don't expect her to always hit the right notes. She lives in Manhattan with her boyfriend and two cats, and has a blog like everyone else.

Alex Zalben is a writer living in New York City. He's written for McSweeney's, Modern Humorist and PulpSecret.com. As one-fifth of the sketch comedy group Elephant Larry, he has been written up in the New York Times, Chicago Tribune, and pretty much every other major publication. Their blog was named one of PC Magazine's Top Blogs for 2007, and they recently won an ECNY Award for their viral short, "Minesweeper: The Movie." Alex did not know love until he bought his first Mac.

Steph Auteri is a freelance writer and proofreader who has been published in Publishers Weekly, New York Press, Playgirl, and other bastions of fine writing. She maintains a professional site https://www.stephiswrite.com, and also blogs about freelancing over at Freelancedom. You can keep up on her day-to-day by visiting her Twitter page.

Diana Vilibert is a freelance writer, among other things. Born in Lithuania, she now lives in New Jersey, where she doesn't have to walk to work ten miles in the snow, barefoot, uphill both ways. Diana cannot afford most of the products she writes about because she buys too many pairs of heels to make up for her shoeless childhood. She's written for MarieClaire.com, Janemag.com, and CosmoGIRL!.

Shaun Seneviratne is a dude just like anyone else. Just your average guy that raps Bone Thugs-n-Harmony to strangers on the subway at 4 a.m., doesn't chew his food because he believes it's a waste of time, and sleeps next to a scale replica of the Ghostbusters headquarters. He can rest easy knowing Egon, Peter, Ray, and Winston have his back. He currently lives in northern New Jersey, plays bass in Rapid Cities, and recently started a tumblr.
