With its nonsensical, drawn-out drama and sub-Star Trek: Voyager techno-patter -- and yeah, also Will Truman snorting the yayo -- the less said about this week's miniseries adaptation of The Andromeda Strain, the better. So maybe we can focus on what was really thrilling during those four hours that we'll probably be demanding back from St. A&E when we die -- the promos for the cable network's new season. Anyone seen those online yet? We'd love to embed them but can't seem to rustle 'em up.
Sure, they were a little derivative -- we were definitely feeling some Dexter/Six Feet Under vibes in there -- but still, pretty durned effective, right? Junkies and cops, gangsters and Coreys, all staring out of our TV at us, right at us, demanding to know if we're ready for them. Are we ready for them? We don't know. Are we? Hang on: are "they" actually coming to our house? 'Cause if so, we're pretty sure we'll need to hide the pictures of our little sisters from Gene Simmons.
