You may know her as Liz Lemon's assistant Cerie on 30 Rock, and now you know Katrina Bowden as Esquire's 2011 Sexiest Woman Alive. With over two-million votes tallied, Bowden advanced through a field of sixty-four in a Sexiest Woman Alive Madness tournament to snatch the crown from defending champ Brooklyn Decker. Moving through her brackets like an N.C. State of hotness-voting competitions, the real-life Cerie swept her division, besting the likes of number-one seed Sofia Vergara, the one-two Mad Men punch of January Jones and Christina Hendricks, and, of course, noted astrophysicist Kim Kardashian.
In a true underdog story, number-ten seed Bowden emerged from the television division to square off against Decker, last year's SI swimsuit-issue cover girl. Humble in victory, Bowden speculated:
"I was up against Kim Kardashian. And then — let's put it this way: if you say my name and then say Megan Fox's name, most people know who she is but, well, a small percent will know who I am. I think a lot of the fans of 30 Rock kind of went crazy with it."
Ya think? With the recent announcement of 30 Rock's impending demise, it doesn't hurt to pad the resume a little.
