Check out Jon Stewart's brilliant sabotage of Jon Huntsman's Twitter Q&A
By James Brady RyanNovember 30th, 2011, 11:30 amComments (11)Jon Huntsman — also known as "the other Mormon running for president," also known as "the former ambassador to China," also known as "who?" — decided to hold a "Twitter townhall" yesterday in an effort to reach out to the youth, I guess. (Honestly, can you really have substantive political questions or answers in 140 characters or less? Answer: no.) All people had to do was tweet a question at Mr. Huntsman using the hash tag #Q4Jon; pretty simple, really.
Except Jon Stewart and the people over at The Daily Show decided to have a bit of fun with the situation, and so the show's official Twitter account sent out this message just a little while before Huntsman's Q&A was supposed to begin:
Now, you might think this is hilarious and in good fun or you might think it's demeaning and inappropriate. But you have to admit one thing: that was a freaking brilliant way to play a prank over Twitter. I refuse to hear arguments to the contrary.
For what it's worth, Huntsman did get a lot of townhall-ing done and seems to have taken this Twitter ribbing in good stride (which is more than can be said for some politicians):
Aw. It almost makes me sad that he's got no chance in hell of winning the primaries.

Never had a chance..."believes" in science. Republitards only want to vote for an imbecile like themselves.
Seriously. The only semi-rational person in a gaggle of loons, and he's been at the bottom since he entered.
I'm deeply relieved he has no chance (at the moment) of winning the nomination. He is as serious and smart and principled as is Obama, but his political positions are in many cases the opposite of mine. But he's the only Republican who would not be a worldwide embarrassment if he became president (well, maybe Romney, but I have no idea what he actually believes in or would do once in office, so I can't say for sure).

at a dinner party with some hard-core fox news types I mentioned Huntsman seemed to be a sensible, reasonable and qualified candidate to which they replied, "never win, doesn't hate on Obama enough". thats where the republican party is right now.

Have you read the NY mag article about the Republican party last month? It really speaks to why a charismatic, funny, intelligent guy like Huntsman doesn't stand a chance while clowns like Cain and Perry are dominating the primary season.
Poor Huntsman. I actually kind of like him, and don't think he would be a disaster as president. But no, the GOP would never pick someone who could make all of us content.
His recent Bimbo remark? the real man? Oh, my.
