Now there are unborn babies with Facebook profiles

Facebook unborn fetus fight fail

Parents who create Facebook profiles for their babies have been around for years. They can be strange but are probably harmless. Parents who create Facebook pages (and comment in the first person) as their unborn children, however... that's something I've never seen before.

The Luxury Spot came across a Facebook post from a few days before Halloween that, if real, could represent the beginning of a disturbing trend. The thread itself is hopefully not representative of the kind of dialogue people will have on these pages, but that's a whole other issue. The real concern here is what kind of effect will this have on the children who grow up and come across their own Facebook profile, diary entries written in their voice and so forth.

Hopefully, they'll just laugh it off as one of those things that used to go on during the era of that "internet" thing.

I'm pretty sure the "internet" isn't an era. And if that's a joke about internet as fad, well, it's not 1999.

By 'came across', do you mean found on Lamebook? Because, that's where it was first posted.

It may not be 1999, but I am still hoping that the era of "humorless scanner commenters" will pass soon.
