PETA Celebrates Mother's Day With Caged Pregnant Ladies

Posted by Brian Fairbanks

It was Mother's Day in the UK yesterday-- we guess Britain's Hallmark division couldn't wait any longer.

PETA hired or acquired a trio of pregnant ladies in London to do their dirty work... and by dirty work, we mean the literal kind. PETA asked the women to remain in a small cage for an undetermined length of time, their only movements to be crawling around on all fours. We're guessing it's not really harmful to the unborn to do this, although isn't it utterly freezing in the UK this week?

Jamie Oliver was also attacked last week for supporting "inhumane" pig farming in the UK. PETA stated: "The answer to saving pigs is not to buy British pork, it's to go vegetarian."

The position itself is not harmful at all. Moreover some mothers-to-be are recommended to stand this way for a period of time to relax, give some more room for their kidney for a while etc. There are exercises to be done in this position (stretching legs in different directions).

However look at the clothes those kids and adults are wearing. It must be a pretty cold day. With all the consequences to the fragile immune system of a pregnant woman.

Insane.

Jaysus people, a little time Googling and checking UK news site would have told you

(1) Mothering Sunday predates Hallmark and the US version of Mother's Day by centuries, and

(2) it has been unseasonably warm in the UK the last couple of weeks.

Ceebee, but why are the people standing there are dressed that warm?

And the children watching them wearing hats and mittens? Uh-huh. Sure, it's "unseasonably warm."

Regardless, I'm sure these pregnant women agreed to do this - I'm sure they weren't kidnapped and forced into cages. So they're idiots.

No, no, it *has* been consistently warm-ish here in southern England recently.  But the weather here can turn on a dime - I think that's why those kids are overdressed.

I think you're all missing the most important thing here - this protest really opened my eyes to how much I wanted some sausages and a glass of milk.

It WAS nice and warm on Sunday actually, I was down the beach (eating duck and lamb) then BBQ in the back garden.

PETAstic!
