I have read some sick hot stuff and this is not it

As D/s writing goes, this was pretty tame, so I'm surprosed to see these comments about it.

I really liked this... perhaps you just have to be closer to that way of thinking?

the writing is not terribly inventive but clearly the passage pushes buttons for people ... note the "heat" rating and overall rating compared with others.

I didn't think it was bad.

Ok, there are some people who like S&M and but this writing style is just doesn't do it for me. The scenes are crude and just unpleasant to read. I mean, you can be a saddist, but do it with grace. But this, I didn't like at all, and it seems that the woman in the book didn't enjoy it herself either.

Why would anyone want to be that woman? Or find any think ok about using the phrase "put a small glass bottle in me, which he then tried to smash with a hammer"
With out either talking of how wrong this is. People reading this that think you are condoning this. As a publisher you are being irresponsible Henry Miller had some thing to say in his work no matter how dark that was, this is just nasty. Maybe it lost something in the translation but to me it is just gratuitously nasty. I was not enlightened or educated or informed by this would imply that this is not literature using the definition:
Written works such as fiction, poetry, drama, and criticism that are recognized as having important or permanent artistic value.
