We've already been blessed today with a clip of hubby and wife team Pete and Ashlee acting their asses off on CSI.  Now the news comes down from the heavens that Ashlee Simpson will be joining the cast of Melrose Place?  Oh happy Monday.  We think she is a perfect fit for MP.

Here are the top 3 reasons why (Hint: none of these reasons have to do with her training as a method actor)


3.  Her Creepy Dad:  Joe Simpson's disturbing presence on set will add an element of fear to the other actors' performances helping the cast to create truly layered characters, thus heightening the art that is Melrose Place.  Your creepiness is for the greater good Papa Joe, we just know it.

2.  Melrose Place Karaoke.  What better way to see the infamous SNL I'm-lip-syncing-so-I'll-hoe-down move incorporated into the Place. Also, Jessica Simpson could make a quick guest appearance on the karaoke ep as a cousin from Kentucky.  She'd have huge hair, and a terrible accent, and shimmy her way through a country music number wearing fringe.  Make it happen, Ash.  Do it for Jess.  Sis is dying for a little Melrose action.

1.  She's Soooo LA.  Really, if the producers are going for authenticity, who's more stereotypically LA then Ashers?  The slouchy fashions?  The oversized granny sunglasses?  The reality show?  The famous sister and sk8r boy husband?  The nose job?  She was born for this, no?
