Children's clothing store pulls crotchless panties after "mortified" mother complains
By Jeff MillsNovember 15th, 2011, 6:30 pmComments (20)Erin French, a mother of two from Greeley, Colorado, was shopping at the Greeley Mall recently when she noticed a pair of crotchless panties hanging for sale in a store called Kids N Teen. Disgusted, French snapped a picture of the offending garment with her cell-phone camera, and lodged a complaint. French said, "They're sized to fit a seven-year-old girl. That's just... totally inappropriate."
French wasn't the only one who complained. The mall management also had words with the store's owner, who said the store had only been open for a couple weeks, and that the question of what merchandise should be sold was still being sorted out. The lame argument that twenty-five percent of the store's garments were sold to teens was proffered, as if selling crotchless panties to thirteen-year olds were totally appropriate. The store heard the complaints, and subsequently pulled the panties from their shelves.
No, this isn't Penn State-level evil we're talking about here, but it is a lapse in judgment at a time when Dakota Fanning perfume ads are being banned in the U.K. for being too racy. And earlier this year, a French line of "loungerie" called Jours Apres Lunes, aimed at young girls, also made some people uneasy. As French put it, "There is one purpose for an item of that nature. And that is not something that we want to encourage for our young girls."

She's just jealous that teens can fit into those and she can't.
And you are a fucking idiot.
What the hell?!?!?!?!? Who in their right mind would carry something as crude as that in their store?!? Crotchless panties belong in a Fredricks of Hollywood store, not a store directed towards teenager girls!
Even all the libs on this site should take umbrage with this.
Why wouldn't we?
Who else would?
"...and that the question of what merchandise should be sold was still being sorted out."
Good thing they didn't put up the cookie monster bondage restraints that were supposed to go on sale next week.
The store manager needs to be fired.
Wow. Totally inappropriate. I think the store needs to be taken down.
These girls have to learn at a very young age that just because they dress provocatively doesn't mean they are asking for it. We should be dressing them like this at age 3 or else when will they learn?
That's something a rapist says. Parody or no. Dismantling rape culture as it is isn't about "teaching" young girls to dress provocatively. Teach men not to rape and these girls won't have to worry.
Because obviously, teaching people not to steal and kill has worked out so well?
I believe that pedophiles, rapers, serial murderers, etc. have a mental problem, it's not about "teaching" them, it's about not releasing them from prisions because they inevitable will do it again.
Maybe they're to aid in toilet training.
that was gold.
You beat me to it. My three-year-old could use something like that.
I don't get it, if this was bad, how come having a porn star read to first graders is ok? In both cases the kids don't understand the adult concerns behind the product or person.
Because crotchless panties are a rather singular purpose item, whereas a pornstar is a human being with an identity comprised of factors other than working in porn.
And reading a children's book doesn't implicate adult sexuality; wearing crotchless panties does.
The community is also wary of its sister store, Van N Candy.
Honestly, who is this woman who owns this place??
this is akin, imo to parents that get their 16yo daughters boob jobs. just wrong.
Now you say something
