Jimmy McMillan is "coming after [Barack Obama's] black ass" as 2012 Presidential candidate
By Virginia SmithDecember 26th, 2010, 5:18 pmComments (4)Just because it's never too soon to start speculating about the next presidential election, and because it's really never to soon for Rent is Too Damn High Party founder Jimmy McMillan to force himself back into the public eye, McMillan has announced that he will be running for president in 2012, unless of course President Obama invites him to be a part of his cabinet first.
"If you don't do your job right, I am coming at you," explained the failed New York gubernatorial candidate. "I know Barack Obama is an Internet hog. I know he knows that I am out there. But what he hasn't heard yet is that Jimmy McMillan is running for President of the United States of America."
"I'm coming after his black ass," he added, in case it wasn't clear before. To avoid a primary race against Obama, McMillan plans to register as a candidate for the Republican party, which might actually be his best idea since he originally decided to tell the world that (get ready for it) "the rent is too damn high."
And now, just because we like it, let's revisit the music video that will almost certainly double as McMillan's campaign ad:

That's a good thing about democracy: anyone can run for office. That's also a bad thing about democracy: anyone can run for office. Is it possible that the problem might be a low salary, rather than high rent?
No, Wrent, the bad thing about democracy is that anyone can *vote*.
No, $800 for a trashy doghouse-sized studio is the problem, Wrent.
I like McMillan. Unlike every other politician out there he has very clear objectives and goals, which makes me want to vote for him even if it may be one big elaborate piece of performance art. God knows we've been giving normal politicians a try for long enough.
I agree 2DH. His dedication to a single objective is admirable, especially when you consider the astute social observation behind it. It's pretty hard to take him too seriously, but he's certainly going to get people thinking.
