Irish budget airline Ryanair is known for its bizarre, controversial cost-cutting measures and headline-grabbing tactics, the most notable example being CEO Michael O'Leary's proposal to charge passengers a euro per bathroom visit. For this reason, the airline has established a rep for basically being the Gary Busey of the aviation industry, which is why it shouldn't come as a surprise that Ryanair will soon start offering porn on flights, allowing budget-conscious travelers to get off after takeoff. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)
Ryanair's proposal to make the friendly skies just a little friendlier is part of the airline's plan to offer an app that allows passengers to download movies, books and TV shows on their smartphones during flight. According to O'Leary, porn in the in-flight entertainment plan is no different than the pay-per-view adult film services available in hotel rooms. "Hotels around the world have it, so why wouldn't we?" O'Leary says, failing to explain why airlines do not also offer maid service, dry-cleaning, or tiny bottles of peppermint- and saffron-infused hand cream.
So if you're trying to book a cheap flight from Milan to London, and you don't mind sitting next to a morbidly obese Spanish businessman who's watching "MILF Hunter 4" on his Droid while surreptitiously making violent love to himself, get yourself a seat on Ryanair! Just a warning for when you land, though: the contents of his pants may have shifted during flight.
