Kristen Wiig, Russell Brand named PETA's Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrities of 2011

Congratulations to Kristen Wiig and Russell Brand on being named PETA's Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrities of 2011. Sure, it's subjective, but that shows you just how sexy those two must be considering we have almost half of the year to go. Who's to say that vegetarians like Carrie Underwood or Demi Lovato aren't going to have a late-December surge of sexiness, for example?

Anyway, Mr. Katy Perry said (in that voice that is always skirting sarcasm, when not downright sardonic):

"I'm a vegetarian. I think it's cruel to squeeze oil out of a fish — because they're lovely little guys, aren't they? You shouldn't eat animals; it's mean to them!"

According to PETA, Brand and Wiig "have captured the hearts of many with their comedic charm and compassionate choices." We know about Brand's womanizing past, but the brilliant Wiig doesn't usually pop up on lists of sexy celebrities (although there was something sexy about Penelope's pathological hubris on SNL), so this is somewhat of a refreshing surprise. Perhaps the PETA people thought, "If Jon Hamm was into her in Bridesmaids..."

Not to make this a referendum on Wiig's sexiness, but could it be that noted vegetarian Natalie Portman is finally suffering a backlash? Wiig told Women's Health:

"I eat a lot of tofu and soy. I drink a lot of water, and I'm addicted to cranberry juice. I do have a splurge day once a week when I can eat whatever you want. It's good, because it helps you stay on track the rest of the week."
