Last week, Diane Schneider, representing the National Education Association (NEA), the largest teachers union in the U.S., told an audience at the U.N. that "Oral sex, masturbation, and orgasms need to be taught in education." Schneider's remarks came during a panel on combating homophobia and transphobia as part of the Commission on the Status of Women. Schneider advocated for more comprehensive sex-ed in schools, saying that it's "the only way to combat heterosexism and gender conformity," and, reflecting the upwardly-trending, open-minded zeitgeist, that "Gender identity expression and sexual orientation are a spectrum." She also stated that those opposed to homosexuality "are stuck in a binary box that religion and family create," as if she had just watched Jesus Camp.
The non-governmental organizations that produce the events at the CSW are U.N. lobbyists, meaning that the agendas being advanced will influence near-future U.N. policy. Pamela Geller, at right-wing website Atlas Shrugs, wasn't too thrilled with the call for more inclusive sexual education. She wrote:
"Looks like a class action suit would have to be filed immediately on behalf of all parents for child abuse, sexual molestation, trauma and sexual abuse against the Federal government, the teachers union, the city and any other sick pervert who had a hand in this. The decaying left, a pox on America's soul. The NEA, the teachers unions, the public school curriculum, all irretrievably broken. They must be destroyed and relegated to the dustbin of history. Still snoozing, Americans? HOMESCHOOL."
Maybe she's right. Yeah, how dare those hairy-palmed degenerates and other morally bankrupt forces of progress bring us into the twenty-first century. How dare they!
