A lot of you probably remember Prussian Blue, who surfaced back in 2003 — the aspiring pop duo appeared in smiley-face-with-Hitler-moustache t-shirts, sang about white power, and generally incurred the horror of pundits and internet commenters everywhere. Well, Lamb and Lynx Gaede, now nineteen, have resurfaced, and judging by a new interview, have more or less done a total ideological 180-degree turn.
"I'm not a white nationalist anymore. My sister and I are pretty liberal now," says Lamb. Lynx helpfully added, "Personally, I love diversity. I'm stoked that we have so many different cultures." Not too surprisingly, the twins now say their whole stint as the eerie blonde faces of white power was foisted on them by their mother, who's still actively working on creating an 'intentional' white community called Pioneer Little Europe. "I had no idea what I was saying," says Lamb.
Now both are active painters and pot-smokers, and say they plan to dedicate their energies to the legalization of marijuana in all fifty states. (Lynx battled cancer in high school, and turned to weed to ease her nausea.)
While much improved from the days of singles like "Aryan Man Awake," Lamb and Lynx still have some, uh, catching up to do on certain issues:
[A]sked whether the Holocaust happened, Lynx replied, "I think certain things happened. I think a lot of the stories got misconstrued. I mean, yeah, Hitler wasn't the best, but Stalin wasn't, Churchill wasn't. I disagree with everybody at that time."
Lamb concurred. "I just think everyone needs to frickin' get over it," she said. "That's what I think."
Well, probably a safe bet that no one's going to "frickin' get over" the Holocaust any time soon, but nice that they've at least sort of snapped out of it.
