Tucker Carlson thinks maybe the U.S. should just completely destroy Iran

Because the last time we went to war in the Middle East because of sketchy intelligence about weapons of mass destruction, it worked out really well — as I recall, we went in there, did our business quickly, and everyone loved us — some people, like bow-tie-wearing Fox News labradoodle Tucker Carlson, are really excited about this idea. But he doesn't think we should do another one of those wimpy wars where we try to take out a well known unstable head of government while not bombing innocent civilians.
No, we should just take that whole place out. Just totally annihilate the place. Which is what he said on Fox News' late-night show Red Eye:
Here's the text of Carlson's astoundingly awful idea:
CARLSON: I think we are the only country with the moral authority [...] sufficient to do that. [The U.S. is] the only country that doesn’t seek hegemony in the world. I do think, I’m sure I’m the lone voice in saying this, that Iran deserves to be annihilated. I think they’re lunatics. I think they’re evil.
You could make the argument that Carlson didn't mean "Iran" as in the 74 million people who live in that country; that what he really meant was the country's government. But "annihilate" is pretty clear in its meaning, and you can believe that if someone said that about the U.S., there would be many people, Carlson probably among them, who would consider that a call to destroy all of us.
Oh, except, duh — it probably means more when they say it because they're evil. Right, Tucker?

In World War the USA bombed German cities and killed 6 million civilians and wounded millions more, the USA bombed Japanese cities and killed 600,000 civilians and wounded many more. After reducing German and Japanese cities to rubble, we did not face any insurgents during the occupation. The Greatest Generation did not have any problems killing millions of civilians and reducing hundreds of cities to rubble, that is the lesson.
And all that after the Germans treated the Brits, French and Eastern Europeans with such love as the Japanese were being so worldly and helpful to the Chinese and Koreans.
Japan and Germany were both driven by left wing politics and had to be stopped.
